Eastern Discovery

We worked with Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery exploring their wonderful, inspiring collection of Japanese prints and objects.

Eastern Discovery was a two day Summer Arts Award workshop aimed at 7-11year olds.  Activities included speaking and writing Japanese language and characters; learning traditional Japanese folk tales, creating props and costumes and making a fun Kabuki-style play.  All participants achieved a Discover Arts Award.  The children were able to see things not usually available to the general public. Parents and children were amazed and impressed at how much they had absorbed in such a short time.

“An excellent two days’ activity that my child enjoyed a lot”
“Brilliant!”
(Parents’ feedback, August 2016)

New for 2017: Summer Arts Adventures.  Children can complete both Discover and Explore Arts Award.
