Action Factory Community Arts is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. A board of trustees is responsible for the company to Companies House and the Charity Commission. The board delegates the day to day running and management of the company to the full time core team. The board meets on a minimum of 6 occasions per year.
The current board of trustees is drawn from people who have a breadth of experience in the Arts, Participatory Arts, the Third and Statutory Sectors. We are committed to encouraging new people to join our board especially those whose own life and careers make them relevant to our work.
Action Factory and Agile Working
Action Factory Community Arts Ltd has adopted an agile working organisational structure. This enables a small organisation, where employees are asked to work flexibly and have varied tasks and responsibilities, to facilitate the co-ordination and ongoing operation of the company. This way of organising enables all staff to contribute creatively to the company vision, within a culture of collective responsibility. The staff has collective responsibility to our board of trustees.
Action Factory and the Way we Work
Action Factory divides its work into “projects”. We have categorised these projects to make it easier to look at what interests you. Our projects range in size from one session to many months of work.
We work with partners and on grant funded projects. Our partners include other charities and trusts, schools, hospitals, community groups, directly with people challenged by need. We usually react to a brief given to us and give an cost estimate in response this on a not for profit basis.
Each project is a unique package which we have developed with our partners and with the participant in mind.
‘Our work is not the work of an artist’s ego but work that puts the participant in charge with support from professionals’.
Currently our projects include:
Lilford Park Arts Trail
Other projects are in a planning or fundraising stage.
